Maybe you haven’t yet purchased a loose pair of jeans because you’re really not sure how to wear boyfriend jeans and still feel like yourself. We’ve all been wearing the skinny silhouette for so long now that the loose silhouette can feel too relaxed and perhaps a little shapeless.

So let’s take a peek here into the most common ways of how to wear boyfriend jeans so you can see how simple a piece they might be to add to your wardrobe.

How to wear boyfriend jeans —the styling…

T-shirts + fitted blazers

I always stop to look at outfits that are styled with boyfriend jeans, a t-shirt and a fitted blazer. It looks so pulled together and effortlessly cool. There’s nothing complicated about it and yet it’s very polished… like you really care for yourself. I like that.

Fitted sweaters with peeking layers

Pairing this preppy top style with relaxed bottoms gives you instant style cred. Take a fitted sweater and layer it over a collared shirt or a silk camisole or anything else you own that is long enough to peek out under the bottom of your sweater.

 Great big scarves

Scarves bring all the attention to your face and give a polished, finished feeling to an outfit. It gives the outfit your boyfriend jeans a feeling of purpose. You’ve designed this outfit rather than just throwing on your partners jeans.

Cozy sweaters

This is my personal fave way to style my own boyfriend jeans because it is just so comfortable. Pair your boyfriend jeans with your favourite loose fitting sweater and your everyday bag and you’re ready for the weekend.

Collared shirts

Pairing your boyfriend jeans with a collared shirt is easy, but did you know there are different ways to style it? Leave the shirt fully untucked… or tuck in one front corner… or tuck in just the front… or tuck the shirt in fully and wear a belt. Once you try all the ways of styling this outfit, you will feel confident in which you like best. If you like more than one you’ve got a bunch of different ways to wear the same outfit—sweet!

T-shirts

Let’s get really simple here and pair your boyfriend jeans with your favourite t-shirt. It can be plain or graphic, loose or fitted… that doesn’t really matter. As long as it’s one of your faves, you’re good to go! The key to keeping it looking good is to half tuck the front of the t-shirt into your boyfriend jeans. This will create definition and shape to this easy outfit.
