Every year there are a group of colours that get released that are “this season’s colours”, which is cool but you really don’t need them to know the spring colours that go together well.
Because even though there are yearly colour combinations that come and go there are also colours that you’ll see paired together season after season for what I imagine to be eternity.
These colour combinations are frequently used in art as well, so today I’ve created some playful pieces of art work to showcase the colours followed by five outfit examples that use these colours.
All of these colour combinations are classics meaning they will suit women of any age, shape, or size and suit varying colourings.
Colours that go together well
Navy, white, gold and…
As soon as spring hits I find myself yearning to wear every navy and white striped item in my closet. I just love this colour combination for spring/summer! Navy and white or cream are such great basics and mixed with gold this is an especially great warm-weather base for women with warm colouring. (Navy and white can also be accented with silver-coloured metals if that’s your preference.)
Navy, white, and gold mix well with purple, yellow, green, and red.
You can feel comfortable knowing that all of these colours go together well so you can mix and match them as much or as little as you like. For example, navy, white and gold are colours that go together well but you could also add red to the mix, or red and purple, or red and purple and yellow. The more colours you mix together the more creative your outfit will feel. The fewer colours you mix together the more classic an outfit will feel.

Black, white, silver and…
Black and white in the summer is such a fresh, crisp base to work with and adding some awesome bright colours to the mix can make your outfit pop even more.
I love the idea of playing with how you make the colours pop. For some, a bright red lip with all black and white clothes will be that perfect pop, for others a mix of a bunch of these colours in a skirt pattern will feel better.
Currently, many women are warming these colours up by adding gold accents instead of silver. I love this look but it won’t be around forever. The classic metal pairing with these cool colours is a silver-coloured metal.
Black, white, silver (and currently gold), magenta, red, yellow and green are colours that go together like this…
As many of these as you’d like…
If you’re more into neutral or soft muted colours, you may sometimes feel a little lost in the summer months. When stores are filled with bright bold colours, perhaps you even feel like you must have bright colours in your wardrobe.
The truth is you can create beautiful summery outfits with all the neutrals and soft colours you love so much.
Play around with these colours that go together well and wear as many at once as you’d like: black, white, dark gray, light gray, light pink, army green, brown, gold, silver
I think you’ll find there’s plenty of options that feel quite summery and still comfortable for you!
